Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teaching certification appropriate for the grade levels (K-8)
  • Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, especially in a resource room or similar setting
  • Strong knowledge of current best practices in individualized instruction and differentiated learning
  • Skilled in creating, implementing, and monitoring IEPs for students with varying exceptionalities
  • Familiarity with progress monitoring, classroom management, and effective communication with general education staff and families
  • Excellent collaboration skills to work closely with paraprofessionals, therapists, and administrative staff

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted instruction in a resource room environment for students in your assigned grade band (K-4, 5-6, or 6-8)
  • Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) and adapt curriculum to meet student needs
  • Track student progress, maintain thorough documentation, and participate in IEP meetings
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure seamless inclusion and support
  • Foster a positive classroom culture that promotes learning, self-advocacy, and growth
  • Support students’ development academically, socially, and behaviorally
