Job Description
Inspire young musicians and foster a lifelong appreciation for the arts in an engaging elementary setting! A full-time Elementary Band Teacher opportunity is available for the coming academic year. This onsite, contract position runs from August 6, 2026, through May 25, 2027, with a weekly commitment of 37.5 hours.
This role will let you shape the foundation of music education for enthusiastic elementary students, building their skills, confidence, and passion as part of a dedicated educational team.
Qualifications:
- Active Louisiana Teaching License/Certification with appropriate music endorsements
- Prior experience instructing elementary or general education students
- Background in band or music education preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to motivate students and adapt lessons to a range of abilities
- Genuine passion for nurturing creativity and musical growth
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging band curriculum for elementary students
- Lead classes, rehearsals, and performances throughout the school year
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners
- Assess student progress and communicate effectively with parents and guardians
- Collaborate with school staff to enhance the overall music program
- Maintain all necessary records and uphold school and district policies
- Uphold high standards of professionalism and student safety at all times
