Employed OB Laborist or Academic OB Laborist in Southwest Ohio - 12-or 24-hour Shifts Available

Our organization is actively looking for full-time, committed OB Laborists. We have openings for both Employed and Academic OB Laborists, with shifts available in 12- or 24-hour formats at Miami Valley Hospital.
Employed OB Laborist Responsibilities- Serve as the attending physician on call during designated hours for PPN patients.
- Oversee the complete management of patients, including OB admissions, deliveries, and postpartum care, without the primary physician's presence.
- Respond to emergencies as necessary, which may include performing Cesarean sections and other critical procedures on behalf of PPN providers.
- Triage all PPN OB patients, ensuring proper documentation and billing.
- Complete a thorough history and physical examination upon the admission of PPN patients.
- Obtain necessary consent for patient care and treatment.
- Assess, treat, and stabilize PPN patients in the Emergency Department requiring obstetric emergency services.
- Adhere to and promote established clinical guidelines for obstetric care.
- Evaluate and manage admitted patients in inpatient OB or GYN services for PPN providers.
- Address postpartum floor issues, such as fever and postpartum hemorrhage, for PPN patients.
We are seeking an academically inclined OB Laborist to join our core faculty team in collaboration with Wright State University’s Boonshoft School of Medicine. Responsibilities include:
- Engaging in didactic teaching, journal clubs, clinical case conferences, and other educational assignments for residents and medical students, in partnership with the department and academic leadership.
- Contributing to the department's missions in clinical care, research, and education.
- Participating in the education and supervision of medical students and residents in various settings, including OB admissions, deliveries, and postpartum care.
- Board-certified in OB/GYN, ideally with experience in a high-volume obstetrical practice.
