Job Description
Discover a fulfilling role supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a contract position near Sanostee, NM, with the option to work virtually. This opportunity spans the academic year from August 3 to May 19 and offers an estimated 17-18 hours per week, including time for both direct student engagement and indirect services such as planning and documentation.
Work closely with three students who have Individual Education Plans (IEPs), each requiring targeted support in reading and math. You’ll collaborate with educators and families to deliver meaningful progress, drawing on both direct teaching and expert oversight as outlined below:
Qualifications/Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience delivering instruction in reading and math within a K-12 setting
- Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation requirements
- Comfort with both in-person and virtual/remote teaching formats
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to provide support both one-on-one and in group settings as required
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individual and group instruction per each student’s IEP
- Provide direct reading and math instruction, as well as oversight support, based on the outlined service times
- Monitor and report progress toward IEP goals
- Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings
- Engage in effective communication with students’ families and school staff
- Adapt instructional methods to meet diverse learning needs and ensure student success
