A retail HIV/AIDS specialty pharmacy is seeking a dedicated Staff Pharmacist for a 16-week maternity leave contract starting August 24. This unique opportunity involves working as the sole pharmacist on-site, providing comprehensive pharmacy services without the support of a pharmacy technician. The position includes a two-week training period alongside the current Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) before fully taking over responsibilities.

Location: Fort Myers, FL
Schedule:

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Friday: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately dispense 20-30 prescriptions daily, managing all aspects of pharmacy operations independently
  • Provide exceptional patient care and communication, especially regarding HIV/AIDS medications
  • Maintain strong communication with patients and healthcare providers to support optimal therapy outcomes
  • Adhere to all pharmacy laws and regulations, ensuring compliance and patient safety
  • Participate in ongoing training and support to stay informed on best practices related to HIV/AIDS pharmacy services

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Florida pharmacist license
  • Minimum of one year retail pharmacy experience
  • Demonstrated experience with HIV/AIDS medication dispensing (must be clearly noted on resume)
  • Familiarity with QS1 pharmacy software is highly preferred
  • Strong commitment to reliability, with no allowances for time off during this contract due to the single-pharmacist model
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude

Additional Information:

  • This role requires the pharmacist to work without a pharmacy technician, so candidates must be comfortable managing all workflow independently
  • Candidates must confirm full availability for the contract length and acknowledge the no return-to-office (RTO) policy
  • Ongoing training and support will be provided after initial orientation
