Job Description
Make a positive impact in the lives of middle school students as a dedicated Special Education Teacher serving a caseload of 28 students in a dynamic, supportive environment. This contract position offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with other RSP teachers while providing specialized instruction and support to students. With a start date as soon as August 10th (or earlier if available) and an end date of June 3rd, this role is perfect for educators seeking a meaningful school year experience.
What You’ll Need:
- Valid Special Education Teacher credential for the state
- Experience supporting elementary and/or middle school students in special education settings
- Strong understanding of IEPs, accommodations, and modifications
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills
- Flexibility and adaptability as this is a roving position collaborating with multiple staff members
Your Responsibilities:
- Teach and case manage a roster of 28 middle school students with a range of disabilities
- Work collaboratively with other RSP teachers across the school to support student needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Deliver individualized and small group instruction in accordance with students’ IEP goals
- Communicate regularly with families, support staff, and administration
- Maintain accurate records and provide progress updates
Position Details:
- Monday through Friday schedule
- 37.5 hours per week
- Contract from August 10th (or sooner) to June 3rd
- Roving role working with various classrooms and staff
- Compensation at $45+ per hour, depending on experience and educational background
