Make an impact supporting students in a dynamic, collaborative school environment through a contract opportunity in the Desoto area. This role focuses on providing expert occupational therapy services across the district, working closely with a small OT team and engaging directly with students to help them succeed academically and functionally.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license required
  • Previous experience working in a school-based setting preferred
  • Comfort with comprehensive evaluations and supervising COTAs
  • Familiarity with ESPED (IEP System) is a must
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, especially with time logs and documentation
  • Ability to work onsite, traveling throughout the district as needed

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide occupational therapy evaluations for students throughout the district
  • Supervise and support 2-3 COTAs, ensuring quality practices and teamwork
  • Collaborate with educators, staff, and families to create and implement effective IEPs and targeted OT interventions
  • Maintain weekly time logs for Director approval; note that payment is only for days worked within the school setting
  • Adapt strategies and interventions to meet diverse student needs, helping them achieve their educational and developmental goals
  • Travel between school sites within the district as assigned
