Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity as a school-based Occupational Therapist supporting students across a close-knit district. You’ll work onsite, playing a pivotal part in helping students reach their fullest potential, and collaborate closely with a supportive team of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs). This role covers the entire district, offering a dynamic work environment where you’ll conduct assessments, provide direct supervision to COTAs, and ensure compliance with district and state requirements.

Your commitment will span the duration of the school year, and you’ll manage a steady Monday through Friday schedule at 37.5 hours per week. Administratively, you’ll be responsible for keeping a detailed weekly timelog to ensure your hours are accurately captured and approved by the Director. As an essential member of the educational team, you’ll also play a key role in the development and maintenance of IEPs.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Valid Occupational Therapy license in Texas
  • Previous experience in a school setting, preferably with school-aged populations
  • Familiarity with ESPED or similar IEP management systems
  • Strong time management and organizational abilities
  • Ability to supervise and collaborate effectively with COTAs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Core Responsibilities:

  • Complete student evaluations and re-evaluations
  • Supervise 2-3 COTAs throughout the district
  • Input and maintain documentation in ESPED (IEP) system
  • Collaborate with educational teams for student support strategies
  • Attend meetings and communicate with families and staff as needed
  • Maintain a weekly timelog for Director review and approval
