In this role, you will provide dedicated interpreting services for a high school student who is fluent in American Sign Language and actively involved in football and track. This is a full-time assignment running from August 2026 through June 2027, with the possibility of extension for ESY (Extended School Year). The school hours are 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, offering a balanced and predictable schedule.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proficiency in Sign Language Interpreting within educational settings
  • Relevant certification or credentials recognized in Maryland
  • Experience working with high school students or similar age groups
  • Comfort and adaptability within diverse school environments
  • Commitment to ethical standards and student confidentiality

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver clear, accurate sign language interpretation during classroom instruction, school activities, and related situations
  • Support academic and social integration for a student transitioning from the Maryland School for the Deaf
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and, when needed, athletic coaches to ensure accessibility
  • Foster a positive, communicative environment for the student
