Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is ideal for a skilled pharmacist ready to support long-term care and mail order pharmacy services on the second shift. Over an 8-week contract period, you will play a key role ensuring safe and effective medication use for patients.
Position Details:
- Location: Waukesha, WI
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM, with some Saturdays
- Contract to Hire
- Two openings available
Key Responsibilities:
- Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications while maintaining compliance with legal regulations
- Monitor patient medication adherence and identify patterns of over-usage
- Maintain confidential records and manage pharmacy files with precision
- Counsel patients on proper medication usage, potential side effects, and drug interactions
- Provide additional patient services such as smoking cessation guidance, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management
- Educate patients on the use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
- Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following strict procedural standards
- Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks, ensuring smooth operations
- Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory effectively
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare practitioners to resolve drug-related issues
Qualifications:
- Licensed Pharmacist in Wisconsin required
- Pharmacy experience strongly preferred
- Prior long-term care pharmacy experience is a plus
