LTC Mail Order Staff Pharmacist | Pawtucket, Rhode Island

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This pharmacist role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic long-term care and mail order environment providing comprehensive pharmaceutical services. The position is a 12-week contract with the possibility to transition to permanent employment, and includes weekday day shifts with the option for 1-2 night shifts per week. Flexible scheduling supports work-life balance while allowing for critical patient care contributions.

Location: Pawtucket, RI
Schedule/Hours:

• Monday to Friday
• Day shifts: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM or 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM
• 1 to 2 night shifts per week may be required

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with regulations
• Monitor patient medication adherence and identify over-usage patterns
• Ensure proper medication supply and legal compliance in dispensing
• Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files with accuracy
• Provide medication counseling, including guidance on dosage, side effects, and drug interactions
• Educate patients on the use of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
• Offer additional patient services including smoking cessation support and cholesterol management
• Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following strict protocols
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and clerical staff to ensure efficient operations
• Manage inventory of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies
• Communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare professionals to resolve drug-related issues

Qualifications:

• Valid Rhode Island pharmacy license required
• Pharmacy experience with exposure to long-term care preferred
• Knowledge of mail order pharmacy operations is a plus
• Strong communication and organizational skills
