Desired Background and Qualifications:

  • Hold an active Illinois Occupational Therapist license (candidate must be an OT, not a COTA)
  • Proven experience delivering occupational therapy services within a school setting
  • Comfortable working exclusively onsite with high school-aged students
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals
  • Strong organizational abilities to handle documentation and caseload management

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized and group therapy plans tailored to students’ educational and developmental needs
  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify students' challenges and advocate for necessary accommodations or interventions
  • Provide direct therapy services and support classroom staff with strategies to facilitate student success
  • Maintain timely, accurate records of evaluations, progress, and communications, adhering to all relevant state and school policies
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings, contributing valuable insights and feedback on student IEPs (Individualized Education Programs)
  • Foster a positive, encouraging environment that helps students build independence and confidence
