Operations Engineer (Unisys / OpCon) Contract - Paying between £500 to £650 Per Day, Inside IR35, Based in South Wales, Hybrid Working, To Start ASAPYour new roleWe're seeking an experienced Operations Engineer to support and enhance critical enterprise platforms within a complex production environment.This is a hands-on role where you'll lead major incident resolution, drive automation, improve operational resilience and act as a senior escalation point for business-critical systems.Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical recovery during major incidents and service outages
    • \n
  • Provide 3rd line support across core operational platforms
    • \n
  • Manage and optimise job scheduling, monitoring and operational tooling
    • \n
  • Support SQL Server environments, troubleshooting performance and availability issues
    • \n
  • Drive automation through PowerShell and process improvement initiatives
    • \n
  • Support change, release, DR and business continuity activities
    • \n
  • Work closely with infrastructure, development and security teams to ensure stable and reliable services
    • \n

What you'll need to succeed

    \n
  • Strong background in IT Operations, Production Support or Infrastructure environments
    • \n
  • Hands-on Unisys experience
    • \n
  • Experience with enterprise scheduling tools, ideally OpCon
    • \n
  • SQL Server administration and troubleshooting
    • \n
  • Windows Server, PowerShell and SFTP
    • \n
  • Major Incident Management and problem resolution
    • \n
  • ITIL / ITSM experience
    • \n
