Employability TutorAbout UsOur employment coaches have two key skills the ability to deliver 1-2-1 support to help people plan and reach their goals, and the ability to teach groups to help people gain skills to achieve their goals. Each role is 50/50 to ensure we continue to support people and deliver training that's fit for people's aspirations.Every coach has a core subject specialism they can teach and are qualified to deliver through numerous levels so we can offer progression to our customers. Additionally, all coaches deliver a wide and varied curriculum around life skills, enrichment, wellbeing and employability all core to our curriculum.A Typical DayCarrying out initial assessments, using tools including Skills Builder and Unifrog, to help learners make informed decisionsDelivering a rich employability programme, including NCFE qualifications and external enrichment activities and visitsWorking alongside the Employability Lead to ensure quality throughout the learner's programmeManaging learners for their whole journey with us ensuring attendance, achievement and progressionReviewing progress and helping learners succeed through regular contact, proactive engagement and planned interventionsBuilding relationships with local support services to ensure a full, holistic package of support, meeting all participant and EHCP needsAchieving targets to get people into work and supporting them and employers in doing soCompleting learner records and monitoring reports, ensuring evidence is collated and stored in line with requirementsContributing to curriculum development across your subject areas, bringing innovation, energy and excitement to both subject matter and teaching styleTaking responsibility for Quality Assurance of your teaching, welcoming others into the teaching setting to observe and get involvedPlanning, preparing, delivering and evaluating all sessions and courses you deliverPreparing plans, schemes of work and learning materials for each session, and maintaining them for monitoring or lesson observationSupporting the delivery of events, workshops and activities to increase opportunities for learnersWhat We're Looking For EssentialA willingness and ability to deliver courses beyond your primary area of expertise, with enthusiasm to adapt delivery to learners' needsAn understanding of and/or experience working with SEND learnersQualification in Mentoring, Advice and Guidance or similarComfortable delivering both 1-2-1 and group sessionsL3 Award in Education and Training (formerly PTLLS) or Teaching qualification, and/or willingness to train towards thisAn understanding of the principles underpinning teaching young people, including planning, delivery, assessment and evaluationA genuine commitment to the personal and occupational success of learnersKnowledge of funded projects including European Social Funded projectsAbility to work as a team, under pressure and in a fast-paced environmentA good understanding of the barriers faced by unemployed and inactive people, and how to helpAbility to work collaboratively with others, in-team or with external support providersA positive, energised and enthusiastic person with a real zest for helping others engaging and supporting people is what gets you up every day, and nothing makes you happier than seeing someone progressResilience working in education, support and employment is a challenging but rewarding career where you'll help bring real change to people's livesWhat We're Looking For Added ExtrasQualifications in your subject specialism (Level 3+), or in-depth knowledge and substantial experience in the subject areaAwareness of the needs of underachieving and disengaged young peopleAbility to deal with challenging behaviour at timesAn understanding of the different local services available for customersInterest in supporting the wider team with wellbeing, learning or employment initiativesAdeptness at change, with hands-on experience of new ways of working and bringing colleagues along for the journeySafeguardingAs part of our commitment to safeguarding, numerous checks form part of the recruitment process including an Enhanced DBS check, and you'll complete a self-declaration form at interview.
