Job Description
NES Fircroft are currently recruiting a Contracts Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity to join our clients contracts/procurement team. They are a leading Oil & Gas operator based in Norwich who offer excellent long-term opportunity and chance to work on major projects within the industry. The successful candidate will provide procurement and commercial advice to contract users ensuring the company maximises the benefits from the services provided by its suppliers. You will be reporting to the Contracts Team Leader in the Supply Chain Management Department. The ideal candidate will be confident and self-motivated, utilising excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. You will be representing the company and must act with a high level of integrity and a professional manner in interacting with suppliers and third parties. This is a Monday-Friday office-based role in Norwich. Working 37.5hrs per week. Initial 2 year contract with view to being long-term part of the team. Key Responsibilities Include: Manage contract change requests and amendments maintaining accurate contract records and documentationAdvise and support contract users on the fundamental principles and processes to adopt when developing and implementing contracting strategiesDraft and manage requests for information, requests for proposal, invitations to tender and contract documents in a clear, detailed proactive manner, gathering input and liaising with key stakeholders at all stages to maximise the benefit for the Company whilst also minimising claims and disputesComplete proposal evaluations ensuring that analysis of proposals are carried out consistently and fairlyNegotiate the best possible commercial position and terms with identified suppliersPrepare recommendations to management for award and execution of a variety of contractsSupport business-wide to resolve commercial and contractual issues with suppliers including drafting, review and negotiation of termsDraft and issue contract letters and noticesWorking closely with the business at all levels to ensure wider commercial objectives are achievedAssist the Finance Department with cost control, providing guidance on contract application and complianceMaintain a designated portfolio of contracts, acting as the nominated commercial representative, and providing support to the contract users throughout the contract lifecycleKey Requirements Include: Previous experience in supply chain, contracts, procurement etc.Knowledge of supply chain or contract management process and proceduresQualified to degree level or able to demonstrate experience in a similar related roleA business focus and commercial mindsetExperience in negotiating commercials and termsUnderstanding and application of key contract principlesProficient IT User of Microsoft Word/Excel etcFamiliarity with SAP or other P2P systemA flexible team worker able to work effectively in a dynamic environment alongside different disciplinesDelivery driven and able to work with a high degree of self-initiative and integrityConfident and able to interact with Management with easeAn effective communicator, both written and oral, to all stakeholder levels both internal and externalA contributor to continual improvementTPBN1_UKTJ
