Night Shift Operations Manager
Job Description
Night Shift Operations Manager
\nFood Manufacturing | East Yorkshire | £60,000 - £65,000
\nMost night shifts are about keeping the lights on.
\nThis one isn't.
\nThanks to significant investment, major restructuring and increasing customer demand, this food manufacturing site is entering its next phase of growth. Production volumes are increasing, the night operation is expanding, and for the first time, they're creating a dedicated Night Shift Operations Manager to take complete ownership of the site overnight.
\nThis isn't a glorified Shift Manager role.
\nWhen the days leave, you'll be the senior operational leader on site.
\nYou'll have around 100 people operating across production, with Shift Managers reporting directly into you and dotted-line responsibility across Engineering, Hygiene and Quality. Your job is to make sure every department is pulling in the same direction while developing the leadership team beneath you into a high-performing operation.
\nYou'll inherit a business that's already invested heavily in its people, processes and facilities.
\nNow they need someone who can make the most of it.
\nWhat you'll be doing
\n- \n
- Leading the entire manufacturing operation throughout the night shift. \n
- Coaching and developing a team of Shift Managers to raise leadership capability. \n
- Working closely with Engineering, Hygiene and Quality to keep the operation running smoothly. \n
- Driving performance across safety, quality, service and productivity. \n
- Building a culture of accountability, communication and continuous improvement. \n
- Making decisions that keep the site moving when everyone else has gone home. \n
What they're looking for
\nYou've already done this.
\nNot necessarily with the same job title, but you've been the senior operational leader on nights within a food manufacturing environment.
\nYou'll know what it's like being the person everyone turns to when something goes wrong.
\nMore importantly, you'll enjoy developing people rather than simply managing them.
\nYou'll probably have experience as a:
\n- \n
- Night Operations Manager \n
- Night Production Manager \n
- Operations Manager \n
- Manufacturing Manager \n
- Senior Shift Manager (with genuine site-wide responsibility) \n
Food manufacturing experience is essential.
\nWhy this one?
\nThere aren't many opportunities where you get to shape a growing night operation from the ground up without inheriting years of legacy problems.
\nThe investment has already happened.
\nThe business is growing.
\nThe structure is in place.
\nNow they need the right leader to bring it all together.
\nIf you're looking for another role where you simply maintain the status quo, this probably isn't for you.
\nIf you'd rather build something, apply below and let's have a conversation.
\nAs always, your application will be handled in complete confidence.
