Job Description
Housing Support Worker
\nWe are looking for an experienced Housing Support Worker to provide proactive, person-centred support to residents living in specialist temporary accommodation.
\nYou will work with individuals and families who may be vulnerable or at risk of homelessness, providing practical housing advice and support to help them maintain their accommodation and move towards sustainable, permanent housing.
\nKey Responsibilities

- Provide one-to-one housing and tenancy support to residents. \n
- Build positive relationships with customers and provide a person-centred, trauma-informed service. \n
- Provide advice and guidance around housing, benefits, income, budgeting and tenancy sustainment. \n
- Support customers with Universal Credit, Housing Benefit and PIP applications where required. \n
- Develop personalised housing plans and support customers with move-on options. \n
- Assist with rent arrears, payment plans and money management. \n
- Respond appropriately to ASB, nuisance and other customer issues, working with specialist teams where required. \n
- Support customers to access health, welfare and other relevant services. \n
- Carry out regular accommodation inspections and report repairs, hazards and maintenance issues. \n
- Support building safety, security and compliance requirements. \n
- Maintain accurate customer and property records and ensure high data quality. \n
- Work closely with local authorities, external agencies and internal teams. \n

About You
\nThe ideal candidate will have:
\n- \n
- Previous experience as a Support Worker, Housing Support Worker, Housing Officer, Homelessness Worker or similar. \n
- Experience supporting vulnerable individuals or families, ideally within housing or homelessness. \n
- Confidence working independently with customers on a one-to-one basis. \n
- Good communication and relationship-building skills. \n
- Experience with housing, benefits, tenancy sustainment or rent arrears is desirable. \n
- A patient, empathetic and non-judgemental approach. \n
- Strong organisational and administrative skills. \n
Working Hours
\n25 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 9:00am - 2:00pm
\nOffice-based, 5 days per week
