LEAD INFORMATIONJob Title: Civil Engineering EstimatorSite location: North West / Hybrid working availableResponsible to: Commercial Director / Pre-Construction ManagerPurpose of the role: To prepare accurate project costings, tender submissions, and commercial proposals across civil engineering, infrastructure, and construction projects, supporting profitable project delivery and continued business growth.Client brief: Our client is a well-established engineering consultancy delivering civil, structural, and infrastructure solutions across a diverse project portfolio. They are seeking an experienced Estimator to strengthen their commercial and pre-construction function as project demand continues to grow.KEY INFORMATIONReason for vacancy: Continued business growth and increased tender pipelineContract: ContractSalary: £60,000 £78,000 / Up to £300 per day day rate (dependent on experience)Shifts: Monday to FridayRESPONSIBILITIESThe role:Prepare accurate tenders, cost plans, and pricing submissions for civil engineering and construction projectsReview technical drawings, specifications, and project documentationComplete quantity take-offs, pricing exercises, and cost evaluationsSource and assess supplier and subcontractor quotationsSupport bid submissions, value engineering, and commercial strategyPrepare contract documentation and assist with pre-construction planningIdentify project risks, opportunities, and margin improvement areasLiaise directly with internal teams, clients, suppliers, and stakeholdersContribute to securing profitable new business opportunitiesKey Skills Required:Proven Estimating experience within civil engineering, infrastructure, construction, or consultancy sectorsStrong commercial and financial understandingExperience producing BOQs, tender submissions, and detailed cost plansExcellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skillsStrong communication and client-facing abilityProficiency in Excel and estimating software packagesKnowledge of NEC / JCT contracts advantageousFull UK driving licence preferredSerply Recruitment Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
