Customer Service, Purchasing and Planning Coordinator
Job Description
Are you looking for a varied role where you can utilise your organisational skills and work closely with customers, suppliers and internal teams? We're recruiting for a Purchasing and Planning Coordinator to join a well established manufacturing business based on the outskirts of Thirsk.
\nThis is a busy and rewarding position, offering a mix of customer service, purchasing, order coordination and production planning. You'll be responsible for ensuring customer orders progress smoothly, materials are available when required, and production schedules are effectively coordinated to meet customer expectations.
\nWe're looking for someone who is organised, proactive and enjoys working in a fast paced environment. You'll be a confident communicator with excellent attention to detail, capable of managing multiple priorities whilst building strong working relationships both internally and externally.
\nYour responsibilities will include:
\nManaging customer orders from receipt through to completion
\nActing as the main point of contact for a portfolio of customers, providing updates and resolving queries
\nRaising purchase orders and liaising with suppliers to ensure materials arrive on time
\nMonitoring stock levels and coordinating the availability of raw materials and packaging
\nSupporting production planning by maintaining schedules and ensuring work can be completed to agreed timescales
\nWorking closely with production teams to respond to changing priorities and minimise delays
\nMaintaining accurate information on the company's ERP system
\nProducing reports and highlighting any issues that could impact customer orders
\nIdentifying opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency
\nDesirable, but not essential skills/experience:
\nPrevious experience within purchasing, planning, order management, customer service or a manufacturing environment
\nExcellent organisational and time management skills
\nStrong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships
\nA proactive approach with excellent attention to detail
\nGood IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and experience using an ERP system
\nThe ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
\nExperience within manufacturing would be advantageous, although candidates with transferable experience from similar environments are also encouraged to apply
