Job Description
Job Purpose:
\n- \n
- Responsible for the development and delivery of pipelines (collect, validate and prepare high quality data) to automate and streamline processes required by different departments across the bank. \n
- Support existing SSIS ETLs (overnight and intraday), proactively fine-tune and enhance existing codes to increase robustness and error monitoring. \n
- Support the internal IT department with changes and upgrades to software platforms. \n
- Develop and maintain UK and EU regulatory reports \n
Principle Accountabilities and Duties:
\nSoftware Development:
\n- \n
- Analysis of issues pertaining to problems or errors raised by in-house systems, i.e. CORE, SharePoint interface, Equation, Kondor, Eximbills, end of day cycle. \n
- Understanding business requirements in order to develop and deliver appropriate solutions based on system definition documents. \n
- Proficiency in advanced 4GL programming languages and able to apply to the fully development life-cycle. \n
- Keep abreast and apply software development’s best practice. \n
Database Support
\n- \n
- To build data pipelines within the SQL environment in SSIS packages, where required, introduce new field and data types for new information to be collated in the CORE environment. \n
- To build reports based on business requirements using SQL SSRS. \n
- To integrate with all the Bank’s sub-systems using data abstraction and connectivity layers, i.e. ODBC, ADO.net. \n
- Ensure that the environment is running optimally and with high standard house-keeping procedures. \n
- To build tabular models (SSAS) for different business units. \n
SharePoint Integration:
\n- \n
- To integrate the SharePoint environment and Forms with Equation system to introduce automation of processes thereby eliminating the need for duplicate entry. \n
- To utilise web services to integrate from cutting edge technology into legacy systems such as Equation. \n
End of Day Cycle:
\n- \n
- To provide second and third level support for in-house programmes during the end of day cycle. \n
- To be able to analyse and rectify any problems raised in an independent and team scenario. \n
- To take ownership of a problem and deliver a solution in a timely manner. \n
- Provide out of office hours support. \n
Risk & Regulatory Duties
\n- \n
- Maintain knowledge of all applicable regulatory requirements including the Bank's Risk and Compliance policies and procedures and adhere to these to avoid exposing the Bank to undue risk. \n
- Report policy/procedure breaches and areas of potential non-compliance and suspicions promptly upon identification in accordance with the Bank's Risk and Compliance policies. \n
- Accurately execute all controls within own area to minimise risk of policy, procedure, and/or regulatory breaches. \n
- Identify new risks/control gaps within own area and escalate accordingly to your Line Manager. \n
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required:

- Degree level qualified or equivalent \n
- Microsoft SSIS – 7 years plus \n
- Microsoft SSAS, SSRS – 2 years plus \n
- C# Programming for Web application – 7 years plus \n
- Windows application – 2 years plus \n
Knowledge and Skills
\n- \n
- Software analysis and design good practice -- essential \n
- Second-line and Third-line Application Support -- essential \n
- Effective problem solving - essential \n
- Critical thinking - essential \n
- Dimensional modelling, Entity Relationship modelling, Normalised modelling – desirable \n
