Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding long-term role in a primary school?

Reed Education is working in partnership with a number of welcoming and supportive primary schools across the Wakefield area who are seeking experienced Teaching Assistants for full-time, long-term positions starting throughout the academic year.

We are keen to hear from dedicated and enthusiastic individuals who have experience supporting children within Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2) settings and who are passionate about helping pupils achieve their full potential.

The Role\n

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and school leaders to support pupils' academic, social and emotional development. Opportunities are available across a variety of year groups and may include:

  • Whole-class classroom support
  • \n
  • Small-group intervention work
  • \n
  • One-to-one support for pupils with additional needs
  • \n
  • Phonics, literacy and numeracy interventions
  • \n
  • Supporting pupils with SEND requirements
  • \n
  • Assisting with classroom preparation and lesson delivery
  • \n
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning
  • \n

Positions are available in a range of primary schools throughout Wakefield, including mainstream and inclusive settings.

What We're Looking For\n

To be considered for these opportunities, you should have:

    \n
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a UK primary school
  • \n
  • Experience supporting pupils within EYFS, KS1 or KS2
  • \n
  • A positive and proactive approach to supporting children's learning
  • \n
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • \n
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
  • \n
  • A genuine passion for education and child development
  • \n
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
  • \n
\n

Qualifications such as Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare or Education-related qualifications are desirable but not essential for experienced candidates.
