This Senior AI Automation Engineer position offers the chance to work on projects that move quickly from concept into production. You'll build solutions that are used by real users and have measurable business impact. You'll sit within a highly visible team that is investing heavily in modern AI capabilities.
What you'll be doingYou'll design and build AI agents, automation workflows and production-grade applications using Python, Azure and Microsoft AI technologies. Working closely with technology and business stakeholders, you'll integrate AI solutions into existing platforms, develop reusable engineering components and help establish best practices across the team. You'll also support technical design reviews, contribute to engineering standards and help ensure solutions are scalable, reliable and secure.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex problems and building technology that genuinely improves the way people work. You'll also help define the future of the team's engineering capability.
What experience you'll need to apply\n
\n - Several years of commercial experience building and deploying AI-powered solutions (ideally within medium to large organisations)
\n - Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio, ideally including the design and deployment of AI agents over the last 12 months or more
\n - Strong Python development experience, including building production-ready applications, APIs and automation workflows
\n - Experience working with Azure, particularly within AI, automation or cloud-based development environments
\n - Experience implementing AI solutions in production environments rather than purely proof of concept work
\n - Strong understanding of AI orchestration, agent design and systems integration
\n - Experience working closely with stakeholders to understand business challenges and turn them into technical solutions
\n - Experience operating within professional services, financial services, insurance, tax or other regulated environments would be highly beneficial
\n - Previous experience providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers or helping establish engineering standards would be advantageous
\n - Please note that this role is best suited to candidates who have been applying AI within a commercial business environment rather than solely through freelance, consultancy or personal projects

Location & Working PatternThis role can be based from either Birmingham, London or Manchester, with a hybrid working model of three days per week in the office.Please note that sponsorship is not available for this position.
