Senior Trademark Counsel / Senior IP Counsel

LAW Absolute are working with a leading international organisation looking to appoint an experienced Senior IP Counsel/ Senior Trademark Counsel on an interim basis to support its established legal team during a busy period. The role is for three months.

This role will focus on managing a diverse international intellectual property portfolio, partnering closely with commercial and brand teams across multiple jurisdictions.

Start date: ASAP

Location: London (hybrid working)

Contract duration: 3 months’

Key responsibilities:

• Advising on trademark clearance, brand launches, and associated legal risks.
\n
• Developing and implementing global trademark filing and portfolio management strategies.
\n
• Handling trademark enforcement matters, oppositions, disputes, and brand protection initiatives.
\n
• Providing guidance on wider intellectual property issues, including copyright, domain names, and advertising-related matters.
\n
• Managing external counsel across international jurisdictions.
\n
• Collaborating with business stakeholders on strategic projects and commercial initiatives.
\n

Essential experience:

\n
• Qualified lawyer with significant experience in intellectual property law, particularly trademarks.
\n
• Proven track record managing complex global trademark portfolios.
\n
• Experience gained within a leading law firm and/or in-house legal environment.
\n
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to provide pragmatic legal advice.
\n
• Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders in a fast-paced, international business.
\n
