\nWe're looking for an experienced SRE Security Engineer to join a high-profile UK Central Government programme, playing a critical role in securing enterprise systems, applications, platforms and infrastructure against evolving cyber threats. This is an excellent opportunity for a security professional with strong Security Architecture and Splunk expertise to work on mission-critical environments, helping to design, implement and continuously improve security controls across complex enterprise landscapes.\n
\n You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to security strategy, and provide technical leadership in a security-focused engineering environment.\n

Key Responsibilities\n

\n
• Design, build and implement secure enterprise architectures and security controls
\n
• Protect systems, applications, data, infrastructure and business processes from cyber threats
\n
• Conduct security assessments, audits and vulnerability reviews
\n
• Develop and maintain security monitoring and detection capabilities using Splunk
\n
• Investigate security events and provide recommendations for remediation
\n
• Work closely with engineering, operations and architecture teams to embed security-by-design principles
\n
• Support platform security initiatives across cloud and on-premises environments
\n
• Contribute to technical discussions and provide solutions to complex security challenges
\n
• Stay up to date with emerging threats, vulnerabilities and security technologies
\n

Required Skills & Experience\n

\n Advanced experience in Security Engineering and Security Architecture\n
\n
\n Strong knowledge of:\n

• Enterprise Security Architecture (ESA)

• Security Architecture Design

• Splunk Enterprise/Splunk Enterprise Security

• Threat Detection and Monitoring
\n
• Security Risk Assessment

Experience securing enterprise platforms and infrastructure\n
\n Ability to work independently and operate as a Subject Matter Expert (SME)\n
\n Strong stakeholder management and communication skills\n

• Cloud Security (AWS, Azure or GCP)

• SIEM and Security Operations Centre (SOC) experience
