Job Description
We are currently recruiting for a Senior HR Advisor (Policy) to join a Local Authority on an initial 3–6-month contract. This role will lead on the development, review and implementation of HR policies, providing expert advice on employment law and employee relations while working closely with senior stakeholders and Trade Unions.
\nThis opportunity would suit candidates with experience in HR Policy, Employee Relations, Employment Law, Organisational Change, Trade Union consultation and Local Government environments.

- Contract Length: 3-6 Months \n
- Rate: £350 per day \n
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm \n
- Start Date: ASAP \n
Key Responsibilities:
\n- \n
- Lead the development, review, drafting and implementation of HR policies, procedures and guidance. \n
- Ensure all policies remain compliant with current UK employment legislation, case law and best practice. \n
- Provide expert HR policy and employee relations advice to senior managers and HR colleagues. \n
- Lead consultation and negotiation activities with recognised Trade Unions. \n
- Support organisational change programmes, restructures and TUPE-related projects. \n
- Produce policy guidance, manager toolkits, training materials and implementation resources. \n
- Monitor legislative developments and recommend policy improvements where required. \n
- Deliver training sessions and briefings on HR policies and employment law matters. \n
- Work collaboratively with senior stakeholders to ensure consistent application of HR policies across the organisation. \n
- Contribute to wider HR service improvement and strategic workforce initiatives. \n
Requirements:
\n- \n
- Proven experience developing, reviewing and implementing HR policies within a large, complex organisation. \n
- Previous Local Government experience is essential. \n
- Strong knowledge of UK Employment Law and Employee Relations. \n
- Experience working directly with Trade Unions, including consultation and negotiation. \n
- Experience supporting organisational change, restructuring and TUPE projects. \n
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills. \n
- Ability to translate legislation and business requirements into practical HR policies and procedures. \n
- CIPD qualification or equivalent HR experience is desirable. \n
- Excellent written communication, analytical and project management skills. \n
