Job Description

We are recruiting for an experienced Area Tenancy Manager to join a local authority housing team on a long-term temporary contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a housing professional with strong tenancy management, income recovery and lettings experience to manage a patch of council housing and deliver a high-quality service to residents.

  • Pay rate: £22.41 per hour PAYE / £29.51 per hour Umbrella

  • Location: Brent, HA9 (hybrid working)
  • \n
  • Working hours: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

\n
    \n
  • Manage a designated patch of social housing properties
  • \n
  • Proactively manage rent arrears and maximise rental income through early intervention and tenancy sustainment activities
  • \n
  • Carry out tenancy sign-ups and support new tenants at the start of their tenancy
  • \n
  • Manage the full tenancy lifecycle, including tenancy changes, successions and end-of-tenancy processes
  • \n
  • Coordinate lettings activities and support the efficient turnaround of void properties
  • \n
  • Deal with day-to-day tenancy management issues and tenancy breaches
  • \n
  • Investigate and manage low-level anti-social behaviour (ASB) cases in line with policy and procedure
  • \n
  • Conduct tenancy audits, estate inspections and resident engagement activities
  • \n
  • Work with internal teams and partner agencies to support vulnerable residents and sustain tenancies
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with housing legislation and local authority policies
  • \n

Requirements:

\n
    \n
  • Previous experience in a housing management, tenancy management or neighbourhood management role
  • \n
  • Strong experience managing rent arrears, income collection or tenancy sustainment cases
  • \n
  • Experience carrying out tenancy sign-ups, lettings and void management activities
  • \n
  • Experience handling general tenancy management issues and low-level ASB cases
  • \n
  • Local authority housing experience is highly desirable, although housing association experience will also be considered
  • \n
  • Good understanding of social housing legislation and tenancy enforcement processes
  • \n
  • Excellent communication, customer service and case management skills
  • \n
  • Ability to manage a varied workload and work independently across a designated housing patch
  • \n
