Country Medical Director (UK & Ireland)
\nLondon/Cambridge Area - Hybrid
\nA global pharmaceutical organisation is seeking an experienced Medical Affairs leader to head its UK and Ireland medical function. This is a highly visible, hands-on position with responsibility for country medical strategy, team leadership and final signatory oversight.
\nThe role will primarily lead medical activities across a specialist anti-infectives portfolio, including an important upcoming launch, with additional scope to work across onco-haematology. You will also contribute to the wider UK leadership team and the continued development of the medical function.
\nKey responsibilities:

- Develop and execute the UK and Ireland Medical Affairs strategy \n
- Lead medical planning across anti-infectives, with additional involvement in onco-haematology \n
- Manage, coach and develop the local Medical Affairs team \n
- Build scientific partnerships with KOLs, healthcare institutions and medical societies \n
- Act as final medical signatory for promotional and non-promotional materials \n
- Provide strategic medical input as part of the UK leadership team \n
- Partner closely with Commercial, Regulatory, Safety, Legal and Compliance \n
- Maintain robust medical governance across the UK and Ireland \n
Ideal background:
\n- \n
- Medically qualified, with 7+ years’ Medical Affairs experience \n
- At least two years of clinical practice experience \n
- Strong anti-infectives expertise gained within industry or clinical practice \n
- Onco-haematology experience would be highly advantageous \n
- Proven experience developing and delivering country-level medical strategy \n
- UK final signatory experience and strong ABPI Code expertise \n
- Excellent leadership, communication and business-partnering skills \n
- A hands-on, commercially aware and solutions-focused approach \n
Candidates should be based within reasonable travelling distance of the company’s South East England office and comfortable with up to 30% national and international travel.
