Management AccountantKendal | £40,000 - £50,000 + benefitsA well-established and growing organisation within the construction/manufacturing sector is seeking a Management Accountant to join its finance team. This is a key role supporting the Head of Finance, offering broad exposure across financial operations, reporting, and analysis in a fast-paced environment.The RoleThe Management Accountant will play an instrumental role in ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of financial operations. You'll be responsible for maintaining robust financial processes, supporting decision-making through insightful reporting, and ensuring compliance with internal and external obligations.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee and support the purchase ledger, ensuring accurate and timely invoice processingResolve finance queries efficiently across the businessMaintain and reconcile purchase ledger accounts, ensuring balances are followed upProduce aged creditor reports and monitor supplier payment timelinesManage fortnightly subcontractor payment cyclesPrepare and process supplier payment runs for approvalProcess expenses, mileage journals, and credit card transactions with accurate job costingHandle daily bank postings and monthly sales transactionsMaintain employee allowances, mileage logs, and tool registersManage the fixed asset register and monthly depreciation schedulesPrepare prepayments, accruals, and monthly stock reportsDeliver monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet, and job costing analysisInvestigate cost variances and provide meaningful financial insightsComplete balance sheet reconciliationsProduce P11D data and support environmental reporting requirementsEnsure accurate filing and documentation of financial recordsProvide support to the Head of Finance and assist with ad hoc projectsAbout YouProven experience within a finance team, including production of management accountsHigh attention to detail with strong organisational skillsConfident communicator with the ability to liaise across departmentsAble to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesStrong proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)Experience using Sage 200 or similar accounting systemsCurrently studying towards CIMA, ACA, or ACCAA proactive, flexible, and positive approach to workDesirable ExperienceBackground within construction or sector-specific financial processesExperience in a manufacturing environmentWhat's on OfferCompetitive salary of £40,000 - £50,000Opportunity to join a growing, forward-thinking businessExposure to a broad and varied finance roleSupport for professional development and studyCollaborative and supportive team environmentRobert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
