Management Accountant

FT Recruitment has been asked to partner with our global engineering and industrial services client, managing their recruitment process for a Management Accountant to join their finance team in Aberdeen. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to join a fast-paced, international business, supporting multiple business lines while contributing to financial reporting, forecasting and commercial performance.

This is a permanent role suited to all candidates who ideally have a 1-month notice period or less, whilst candidates who are available at short notice are encouraged to apply.

Key Duties:

\n
• Prepare monthly management accounts, journal entries and financial reports in line with reporting deadlines
\n
• Review Profit & Loss performance, working closely with project managers and operational teams to provide financial insight
\n
• Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis across multiple business lines
\n
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and assist with month-end processes
\n
• Work collaboratively with operational teams to improve WIP, accrued income, aged debt and other key performance indicators
\n
• Assist with the development and improvement of management reporting frameworks
\n
• Prepare VAT returns and support other statutory reporting requirements
\n
• Assist with stock and fixed asset counts where required
\n
• Deputise for the Management Accountant Lead when necessary and provide wider support to the finance function
\n

Experience Required:

\n
• Previous experience working within a Management Accountant role
\n
• Strong understanding of management accounting principles and month-end reporting
\n
• Experience working with integrated ERP/business management systems
\n
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
\n
• Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
\n
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail
\n
• Ability to communicate effectively with both finance and operational stakeholders
\n
• Professional accountancy qualification (or actively working towards one) would be advantageous
\n
• Experience working within a fast-paced commercial environment is desirable
