Location: Swindon (Hybrid – 2 days per week onsite: every Wednesday and one additional day)
\nContract: Initial 3-Month Contract
\nRate: £375 per day (Umbrella)
\nIR35 Status: Inside IR35
\nSecurity Clearance: BPSS required
\nAbout the Role
\nWe are seeking an experienced HR Operations Advisor to join an organisation on an initial three-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional with strong employee relations experience to provide expert operational HR support within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
\nWorking closely with managers and key stakeholders, you will deliver practical HR advice across a broad range of people matters, ensuring compliance with employment legislation, organisational policies and HR best practice. You will play a key role in supporting managers, resolving employee relations issues, contributing to organisational change initiatives and driving continuous improvement across HR services.
\nKey Responsibilities
\nAs HR Operations Advisor, you will:
\n- \n
- Provide expert HR advice and guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures and employee relations matters. \n
- Manage a varied employee relations caseload, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, capability and performance cases, ensuring timely and compliant resolution. \n
- Coach and support managers to make effective, consistent and legally compliant people management decisions. \n
- Act as an escalation point for operational HR queries, resolving issues through the appropriate application of policies and procedures. \n
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with managers, employees and key stakeholders across the organisation. \n
- Support organisational change programmes by providing HR guidance throughout implementation. \n
- Assist with recruitment activities, including coordinating job descriptions, supporting hiring managers and maintaining recruitment records. \n
- Maintain accurate employee records and update HR systems in accordance with data protection requirements. \n
- Analyse HR data and trends, producing reports and identifying opportunities for service improvement. \n
- Contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance HR processes and service delivery. \n
- Ensure all HR activities are carried out in line with employment legislation, organisational policies and HR best practice. \n
- Escalate complex or high-risk matters where appropriate. \n
About You
\nTo be successful in this role, you will have:
\n- \n
- Demonstrable experience in an HR Advisory or HR Operations role. \n
- Proven experience managing employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance matters. \n
- CIPD Level 5 qualification (or above), or equivalent practical HR experience. \n
- A strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice. \n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels. \n
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently. \n
- Sound judgement when interpreting and applying HR policies and procedures. \n
- Experience using HR information systems and maintaining accurate employee records. \n
- A customer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering a high-quality HR service. \n
Desirable Experience
\nIt would be advantageous if you have:
\n- \n
- Experience using Oracle Fusion HR. \n
- Experience supporting organisational change programmes. \n
- Experience analysing HR metrics and producing management information. \n
- Previous experience working within the public sector or a large, complex organisation. \n
- Knowledge of pension administration processes. \n

- Mandatory onsite attendance in Swindon every Wednesday and one additional day each week (this requirement is fixed). \n
