Reporting to the Head of Risk, you'll provide commercially focused legal advice across the firm's international offices, helping ensure compliance with evolving regulatory obligations while supporting the firm's risk and compliance framework. This is a broad, advisory role offering significant stakeholder exposure and the opportunity to contribute to firm-wide policies, governance and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on legal risk and compliance matters including professional conduct, ethics, AML, sanctions, conflicts, data protection, AI and commercial agreements.
  • \n
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact across the firm's global operations.
  • \n
  • Draft, review and update policies, procedures and internal guidance to reflect changing legal and regulatory requirements.
  • \n
  • Work closely with lawyers, business services teams and senior stakeholders to deliver practical, commercially focused advice.
  • \n
  • Support governance activities, maintain compliance records and contribute to wider risk projects, training and international initiatives where required.

This opportunity would suit a qualified lawyer with at least six years' PQE and strong experience within the Risk & Compliance function of an international law firm. You'll have an excellent understanding of the SRA regulatory framework and experience advising on legal and regulatory risk matters including financial crime, conflicts, confidentiality and data protection.

You will be a confident communicator with strong analytical and organisational skills, capable of building trusted relationships across the business while delivering pragmatic, commercially focused advice. A proactive approach, sound judgement, discretion and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential. Experience delivering training, managing complaints or supporting professional indemnity matters would be advantageous.
