Senior Business Analyst Lead (ETRM)

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

\n

• Work with the various business departments to ensure their priorities align with current IT deliverables and availability.

\n

• Lead project teams to ensure timelines are being met; deliverables are in line with business priorities

\n

and solutions remain flexible to evolving future business requirements and not leading to suboptimal development.

\n

• Continuously communicate with business partners to understand company priorities and direction and manage expectations.

\n

• Continuously communicate with IT to ensure the business is providing the necessary support for

\n

prioritized BAU and project work and develop remediation approaches.

\n

• Actively identify/design solutions around business inefficiencies, processes and areas of

\n

improvement.

\n

• Help identify flaws in the existing processes that could put the company at risk; propose feasible

\n

solutions to reduce residual business and systems risk.

\n

• Communicate with business departments to identify solutions or recommendations to make identified processes and controls more efficient, robust, and accurate.

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS):

\n


\n

1. Education and Certifications:

\n

%AA; Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or process orientated study.

\n


\n

2. Experience (Essential):

\n

%AA; Prior experience in the energy industry or related experience.

\n

%AA; Comprehensive understanding of trading organization set-up e.g. front, middle, back office and

\n

associated standard controls.

\n

%AA; Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience with ION’s Endur ETRM or similar ETRM systems.

\n

%AA; Understanding of LNG / natural gas / oil / products marketing activities, including purchase/sales,

\n

transportation, storage and financial transactions.

\n

%AA; Modelling and managing of the above deal types within Endur

\n

%AA; Understanding of IT development lifecycle (Agile development)

\n

%AA; Development and implementation of trading related Key Risk and Performance Indicators.

\n

%AA; Experience designing and implementing technical solutions for business efficiency and

\n

productivity.

\n


\n

3. Skills:

\n

%AA; Excellent communicator with strong written and verbal communications skills as well as

\n

interpersonal and presentation skills, including the ability to effectively work with co-workers of

\n

vastly different professional backgrounds as well as external client counterparties and

\n

suppliers e.g. banks and software vendors.

\n

%AA; Must be flexible and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with continually changing

\n

priorities. Excellent team player with strong negotiation and influencing skills.

\n

%AA; Must be proficient in using systems and software such as MS Office Suite, specifically, Excel

\n

(including large data analytics and reporting functionality) and ideally Visio and SharePoint.

\n

%AA; Experience in operating and developing Excel VBA macros is preferred. Macros in this context

\n

are used to assist in data collation and facilitate efficient KRI reporting.

\n

%AA; Ability to own and execute tasks in an organized and structured manner.

\n

%AA; Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

\n

%AA; Team player and inquisitive and innovative nature.

\n

%AA; Ability to manage project timelines and deliverables in a team and/or independent framework.

\n

%AA; Understanding database structure, query language, and framework.

\n

%AA; Strong understanding of IT code management strategies and tools.

\n

%AA; Python and Microsoft Power Platform experience is preferred.
