\nThe Role
\nAs the Estimator, you will take ownership of the quotation process from initial enquiry through to final quotation. Working closely with Sales, Engineering and Manufacturing, you will assess technical requirements, determine the most efficient manufacturing route, calculate costs and produce accurate quotations within customer deadlines.
\nThis is a varied role where no two enquiries are the same, requiring excellent technical understanding, commercial awareness and strong organisational skills.
\nResponsibilities

- Manage the quotation process from enquiry through to customer submission. \n
- Review technical drawings and specifications to determine manufacturing requirements. \n
- Assess project feasibility and identify the most efficient production methods. \n
- Produce accurate cost estimates based on materials, manufacturing processes and lead times. \n
- Liaise with Engineering, Production, Purchasing and Sales to obtain technical and commercial information. \n
- Source material pricing and compare previous manufacturing data where appropriate. \n
- Prepare clear, accurate and competitive quotations within agreed timescales. \n
- Maintain quotation records using the company's CRM system. \n
- Prioritise multiple enquiries while meeting customer deadlines. \n
- Support continuous improvement of estimating processes and commercial activities. \n
- Work closely with the Sales team to develop competitive pricing strategies. \n
The Candidate
\nThe successful candidate will have previous estimating, engineering or manufacturing experience and be comfortable interpreting technical information while working to tight deadlines within a commercial environment.
\nYou should have:
\nPrevious experience in an Estimator, Cost Engineer or similar technical/commercial role.
\nManufacturing or engineering industry experience.
\nAbility to read and understand engineering drawings.
\nStrong commercial awareness and problem-solving skills.
\nExcellent Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
\nExperience working with CRM or ERP systems.
\nStrong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
\nExcellent communication skills and the ability to work across multiple departments.
\nHigh levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
\nA proactive and methodical approach to work.
