\nRapier Employment are currently recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers on behalf of our well-established client based in Castle Donington. This is an excellent opportunity for drivers seeking ongoing, long-term work with competitive rates and flexible shift patterns.\n
\nWhether you prefer days or nights, we have shifts available to suit your availability. Please note that all shift patterns include at least one weekend day.\n
The Role\n
\nAs an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will be responsible for delivering goods to RDCs and retail stores across the region. This role will involve some physical work, including the use of tail lifts and cage deliveries.\n
Key Responsibilities\n
\n

\n
• Completing deliveries to RDCs and retail stores
\n
• Unloading store deliveries using cages and tail lifts
\n
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and defect reporting
\n
• Ensuring all deliveries are completed safely and efficiently
\n
• Maintaining compliance with drivers' hours and transport legislation
\n

• Start times between 04:00 and 09:00
\n
• £18.75 per hour PAYE
\n
• £28.12 per hour PAYE overtime
\n
• £21.01 per hour including holiday pay
\n
• £31.51 per hour overtime including holiday pay
\n

\nNights\n
\n

\n
• Start times between 15:00 and 21:00
\n
• £21.06 per hour PAYE
\n
• £31.59 per hour PAYE overtime
\n
• £23.60 per hour including holiday pay
\n
• £35.40 per hour overtime including holiday pay
\n

\n
\nOvertime paid after 43.75 hours worked per week.\n
\nRates are the same Monday to Sunday.\n
Candidate Requirements\n
\nTo be considered for this role, you must have:\n
\n

\n
• A valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
\n
• A valid Driver CPC qualification
\n
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card
\n
• A minimum of 3 months' commercial driving experience (required for insurance purposes)
\n
• A positive, reliable and professional attitude
\n

• No DR10, CD10 or IN10 endorsements
\n
• No more than 6 penalty points
\n
