Overview\n
\n
\nUsing independent judgment, perform a variety of procedures utilizing nuclear medicine equipment and Hybrid PET/CT scanner. \n
\n
\nSchedule\n

\nFull Time, Day Shift\n

\n9:00AM-5:30PM - Monday and Thursday\n
\n
\n7:00AM-3:30PM - Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday\n
\n
\nNo Weekends \n

Qualifications\n
\n
Licensure/Certification/Registry:\n
\n
\nRegistered nuclear medicine technologist, ARRT-N or NMTCB certificate required.\n
\n
\nObtain PET technologist, NMTCB certificate, within 18 months.\n
\n
\nActive license required from the Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety in nuclear medicine.\n
\n
\nMaintain BLS CPR Certification.\n
\n
\nMaintain PET Certification, after acquiring.\n
\n
Experience:\n
\n
\n2 years nuclear medicine experience required, including 1 year as Nuclear Medicine Tech II.\n
\n
\n700 hours experience on hybrid PET/CT scanner required.\n
\n
Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:\n
\n
\nExcellent interpersonal and guest relations skills required.\n
\n
Responsibilities\n
\n
\nPerform a variety of nuclear medicine imaging, Hybrid PET/CT imaging and therapeutic procedures on patients of all ages, according to established standards, policies, protocols and guidelines.\n
\n

  • Advanced procedures including

  • Brain death studies

\nTherapeutic administrations including\n
\n

  • Inpatient and Outpatient 131 I ablations
  • \n
  • Strontium/Samarium
  • \n
  • Xofigo
  • \n
  • SPECT/CT Imaging
  • \n
  • Attenuation Correction and diagnostic quality studies
  • \n
  • Oral and IV contrasted studies
  • \n
\n
\nMaintain technical skills relating to imaging factors.\n
\n
\nMaintain an excellent guest relations rapport with patients, visitors, Physicians and fellow employees.\n
\n
\nMaintain skills in performing emergency and routine patient care as required.\n
\n
\nMaintain technical skills with the performance of bariatric imaging to include the operation of bariatric patient transfer devices.\n
\n
\nMaintain technical skills with the performance of imaging of ICU patients.\n
\n
\nUtilize proper infection control practices per the department procedure manual.\n
\n
\nMonitor the condition of equipment and supplies to ensure safe and efficient operations of the department.\n
\n
\nEnsure proper recording and transmission of patient information.\n
\n
\nComply with department procedure regarding employee / patient incident reports.\n
\n
\nParticipate in continuing education and maintain knowledge of current and new technology.\n
\n
\nPerform quality control procedures in accordance with manufacture guidelines on all Nuclear Medicine imaging equipment.\n
\n
\nSuccessfully perform biweekly Normalization of PET/CT scanner and keep proper records of Remove this requirement is obsolete.\n

\nCapable of modifying existing protocols and building new protocols for the PET/CT scanner.\n
\n
\nCapable of resolving camera issues-calling support, rescheduling patients, rearranging the schedule, and able to assist field engineers when needed.\n
\n
\nMonitor Preventative Maintenance of both scanner and contrast injector.\n
\n
\nMaintain proper safety measures in handling of all radiopharmaceuticals and employee radiation exposure dosage.\n
\n
\nCapable of working independently and provide guidance to Level I & II Technologists. Assist with the instruction of radiography students and new employees.\n
\n
\nParticipate in flexible work hours that coincide with workload demands, overtime required when necessary. \n
\n
\nTake call as required to assigned area of department.\n
\n
\nPerforms other related work as required or requested.\n
\n
