Our organization is looking for a skilled Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join our OB/GYN practice at Franklin Hospital in Farmington, Maine. This role involves supporting our busy outpatient OB/GYN services under the guidance of supervising OB/GYN physicians. The selected candidate will address a wide array of women’s health concerns, including both prenatal and postnatal care. The position encompasses a blend of outpatient and inpatient responsibilities, including clinical coordination of obstetrical and gynecological services, labor and delivery unit coverage, and assistance with certain surgical procedures. Call requirements are set at a shared 1:4 schedule.
The ideal candidate should have completed an accredited nurse midwifery program and possess a minimum of two years of relevant experience in women’s health. A successful applicant will demonstrate strong clinical abilities and a solid understanding of low-risk pregnancies. Additionally, they should exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration within a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic OB/GYN setting.
Essential Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing and successful completion of an ACNM-accredited nurse midwifery program.
Licenses/Certifications: Valid license and registration to practice as a Certified Nurse Midwife in the State of Maine. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
Preferred certifications as a surgical first assistant.
Experience: At least 2 years of experience in labor & delivery and outpatient settings; prior CNM experience is preferred.
Proficiency in IUD insertion and office ultrasound is mandatory; experience with Nexplanon insertion is a plus.
Comfortable managing moderate-to-high risk pregnancies.
A collaborative approach to patient care, working alongside OB/GYNs and various clinical team members.

The salary range for this position is between $109,659 and $149,380 annually, contingent upon the candidate’s experience level.
