Position Overview

This role involves overseeing women’s services, managing workflows, and optimizing nursing resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather and assess relevant health information to create and execute personalized care plans aimed at achieving measurable outcomes for women and newborns, focusing on family-centered care.
  • Facilitate care delivery that emphasizes the needs of women, newborns, and families within your professional scope.
  • Utilize health education strategies to promote, maintain, or restore health in a safe environment.
  • Monitor progress towards expected outcomes in the context of family-centered care.
  • Make ethical decisions and take actions on behalf of women, fetuses, and newborns, guided by a solid ethical framework.
  • Practice inclusively, respecting cultural diversity while caring for women, newborns, and families.
  • Engage in effective communication and collaboration with women, families, healthcare providers, and the community to ensure holistic care.
  • Act as a role model, consultant, and mentor for women, families, healthcare consumers, and fellow professionals.
  • Stay updated with current evidence-based nursing practices relevant to women, newborns, and families.
  • Integrate evidence to assess and enhance interprofessional knowledge and care approaches for women and newborns.
  • Evaluate personal nursing practices and contribute to the assessment of peers based on evidence-based care standards.
  • Consider resource factors such as safety, effectiveness, technology, and fiscal responsibility when planning care.
  • Ensure environmentally safe practices while delivering care to women, newborns, and families.
  • Apply scientific knowledge and evidence-based practices to nursing care, tailored to the specific needs of patients.
  • Maintain a constant state of alertness and safety in all activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: Must be a graduate from an accredited nursing program or possess equivalent educational qualifications for licensing.
  • Experience: No prior experience is necessary.
Physical Demands
  • Regularly communicate verbally to share information.
  • Frequent standing and walking are required.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling of objects weighing between 0-50 lbs.
  • Regularly engage in sitting, reaching, and data entry tasks.
  • Utilize vision for both near and far distances, as well as color differentiation.
  • Employ smell to identify odors and hearing to receive oral communication and detect alarms.
  • Occasional driving may be necessary.
  • Rarely, crawling and running may be required.
Licensure and Certifications

Depending on the state of work location, the following certifications are required:

  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - State-specific licensing body
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) - AHA or equivalent programs such as NRP or PALS.
Work Schedule

This position requires night shifts and is classified as a regular employee role.

Weekly Hours

The scheduled work hours are 36 per week.
