Business Intelligence Specialist (Power BI)

Job Title Business Intelligence Specialist (Power BI) Overview We are seeking a Business Intelligence Specialist to design and develop analytics solutions that support data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will have experience building Power BI dashboards, performing data analysis, and creating scalable reporting solutions while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Develop Power BI dashboards and reports through the full development lifecycle, including analysis, testing, documentation, and release support. Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into effective Power BI solutions. Design and build persona-based dashboards that provide insights into portfolio performance, project execution, milestones, risks, dependencies, KPIs, financial metrics, and value realization. Create and maintain Power BI semantic models, measures, calculations, relationships, filters, drill-through functionality, and reusable reporting components. Design intuitive dashboard user experiences with clear information hierarchy, data storytelling, drill-down navigation, accessibility considerations, and maintainable layouts. Support data integration and modeling across multiple enterprise data sources as access becomes available. Develop data models and reporting solutions that support future automation and governed data refresh processes. Perform data validation, reconciliation, exception management, and source-to-dashboard accuracy checks. Analyze change requests and defects, assess impacts, create test cases, perform unit testing, support user acceptance testing, and document known limitations. Participate in design reviews, peer reviews, sprint planning, stakeholder demonstrations, deployment activities, documentation, and knowledge transfer. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree. Minimum 3 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Business Analytics, or a related field. Experience with: Power BI Business Intelligence Business Analytics Data Analysis Ad Hoc Reporting Microsoft Azure Python ETL processes Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Automated scripting Data and analytics dashboards Jira Financial operations Data governance Strong communication skills. Knowledge of data modeling and technical communication standards. Preferred Qualifications Hands-on experience developing Power BI reports and dashboards. Experience with DAX and Power Query. Experience with semantic modeling, filters, drill-down functionality, dashboard UX, and performance tuning. Relevant certification preferred.
