Basic Job Functions: FIP Line Operators are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of automated equipment used in the production of foam-injected C.H.I. products. Operators on D Shift are trained and expected to rotate across all positions on the FIP Line — Coils, Toggle, AMPO, Foam, Saw, Quality Control, Green Machine, and Warehouse. The ability and willingness to work competently in every position is a core requirement of this role. D Shift: M-F (8:00 pm – 5:30 am) (Candidates selected for this role will train with C Shift from 5:00 pm to 2:30 am) Production & Operations Safely operate and maintain automated equipment used in the production of foam-injected products. Follow production schedules and standard work instructions for all assigned positions. Monitor equipment during operation to ensure proper function and identify issues as they arise. Troubleshoot equipment issues at the operator level and escalate when beyond operator authority. Ensure all products meet quality standards before advancing through the line. Complete required documentation and paperwork accurately and on time. Maintain a clean and organized work environment throughout the shift. Perform all other duties as assigned. Line Position Rotation Operators on this shift are cross-trained and rotated across all eight positions on the FIP Line: Coils — staging and feeding coil stock into the line Toggle — operation of the toggle lock system and related automated components AMPO — automatic magnet placement system operation and verification Foam — monitoring and supporting the foam injection system during production Saw — operating the cut-to-length saw and inspecting blade condition Quality Control — inspecting finished product against quality standards and flagging non-conforming output Green Machine — offloading and movement of long-profile finished product using the Combilift multi-directional forklift Warehouse — offloading finished FIP product Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Compensation Data $20.61 + $1.00 Shift Differential + Weekly Production Bonus Example: Hourly Base Rate = $21.61 | Weekly Production Bonus = 60% | Total Hourly Rate = $34.57 Production Bonus Production Bonus percentage is variable, determined upon attaining production goals each week. Production Bonus is paid out weekly. Profit-Sharing 10% of Nucor's pre-tax earnings are contributed to the Profit Sharing Plan annually and distributed to all eligible teammates. A large portion is deposited into your profit-sharing account, and a smaller portion is distributed in cash. Current 6-year average = 19.88% of your eligible earnings.
