Vascular Surgery Opportunity

Our organization is seeking a full-time, Fellowship-trained Vascular Surgeon to join a thriving practice in Boise, Idaho. This physician-led group, consisting of 550 providers across multiple specialties, has experienced a remarkable 30% growth over the last two years and consistently achieves high patient satisfaction ratings.

We are looking to expand our exceptional vascular surgery program, which currently includes three surgeons and two Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). The ideal candidate will have expertise in both advanced open and endovascular surgical techniques for a variety of vascular conditions. A commitment to a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to patient care is essential, as is a desire to help develop a regional vascular referral center within our expanding multi-specialty medical group. Additionally, vascular surgeons at our center oversee a non-invasive vascular lab, providing supervision and interpretation of vascular studies. While not mandatory, candidates with the Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI) credential will be preferred.

Vascular surgeons based in Boise will collaborate with hospital administration to co-manage the vascular surgery service line. Our organization, which includes primary and specialty care providers across 72 clinic locations, is also part of a larger health alliance comprising over 1,800 employed and independent providers.

Our vascular surgery team benefits from a dedicated 24/7 surgical call team. The Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center has made significant investments in vascular surgery, including a $4.2 million Hybrid Operating Room equipped with Philips FlexMove technology. This facility combines a surgical operating room with advanced x-ray imaging, allowing our surgeons to perform cutting-edge endovascular procedures. Additionally, a second Hybrid O.R. has been established as a beta site for Philips and Macquet, utilizing Philips Azurion technology, which significantly reduces radiation exposure for both staff and patients during procedures.

The selected candidate will primarily practice at our main campus in Boise, with outreach clinics scheduled one to two times per month. The clinic operates during traditional hours from Monday to Friday, and call responsibilities are shared equitably among the physicians, with a ratio of 1:4.

To qualify for this opportunity, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
• Completion of an ACGME accredited vascular surgery residency or fellowship, along with ABS certification in vascular surgery.
• Board certification from the American Board of Surgery, with a certification of special qualification (CSQ) in vascular surgery, or the ability to obtain such certification within three years of employment.
• A current, unrestricted medical license to practice in Idaho and Oregon.
• Ability to secure privileges at SAMC-Boise and other affiliated hospitals, along with valid controlled substance registration with the Board of Pharmacy and DEA.
