Farringdon hybrid working availableAs Fire Safety Contract Manager , you will play a key role in delivering Southern Housings rolling programme of Passive Fire Safety Works, helping to ensure our residents live in safe homes and buildings. You will support the day-to-day management of fire safety contracts, working closely with contractors, colleagues and stakeholders to deliver high-quality, compliant and value-for-money works across our residential and commercial buildings.This is a varied and influential role, combining programme delivery, contract and budget management, quality assurance, resident communication and team leadership. You will use your technical knowledge, organisational skills and resident-focused approach to drive performance, maintain robust records and support continuous improvement, while championing Southern Housings HEART values in everything you do.Principal duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Ensure contracts are managed effectively and works are delivered on time, within budget and to agreed standards, while meeting statutory, regulatory, health and safety and customer satisfaction requirements.Act as lead officer for relevant contracts, applying Southern Housings contract management framework and meeting contractors regularly to review performance and drive improvement.Lead the contract management of Passive Fire Safety Works projects, taking corrective action where required and providing regular reporting on programme progress, risks and performance.Manage, motivate, support and develop the team, leading by example to deliver excellent services and achieve the objectives set out in the team plan.Support the negotiation, appointment and management of contracts, ensuring value for money in line with Southern Housings procurement procedures.Support the Head of Fire Safety Delivery in the effective management and delivery of Southern Housings rolling programme of Passive Fire Safety Works in across residential and commercial stock.This is a full time position, working 35 hours per week, with the option for working in a hybrid way when appropriate and as agreed with your manager . You will be based in our London (Farringdon Station) office.What youll need:Proven experience of managing complex programmes and budgets of passive fire safety works within residential buildings and commercial buildings, including fire door repair and replacement, fire stopping and compartmentation works.Strong working knowledge of relevant fire and building safety legislation, including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the Fire Safety Act 2021, the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 and the Building Safety Act 2022.Experience of undertaking building surveys, interpreting Fire Risk Assessment findings and preparing specifications, schedules of work and tender or pricing documentation.Experience of managing specialist contractors and consultants, including fire door, fire stopping and compartmentation specialists.Strong contract management, procurement and budget management skills, with knowledge of different forms of contract and the ability to drive value for money.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear advice, reports and responses to residents, colleagues, contractors and stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.Confident using IT systems, including Microsoft Word and Excel, to produce reports, manage data, monitor performance and support decision-making.Solution-focused and pragmatic, with the ability to use initiative, solve problems and manage a varied workload to meet agreed targets and deadlines.Degree level or equivalent relevant professional qualification or qualified by experience.In your supporting statement, it is important that you address how you meet each of theabovecriteriaprovidingreal examples.Closing date: 20 th August 2026 at 23.59pm.Shortlisting date:week commencing 21 st August 2026.Interview date: in-person interviews will take place on 8 th September 2026.About usAt Southern Housing, our residents are at the heartof everything we do.
