\n Morson Edge are working on behalf of a major player in the Energy Sector who have a current contract requirement for an experienced Field Engineer (Welding) to join their established site-based team in Bridgwater, Somerset. This is a (renewable) contract position - inside IR35.
Overview:

• As a Field Engineer focused on welding, you will oversee critical quality assurance tasks, ensuring construction activities align with contractual and safety requirements. ? ?

• You will Identify and mitigate potential quality issues, supporting on-time project delivery.
\n

Principal accountabilities

\n
• Submit and document non-conformance reports as needed.
\n
• Review and monitor Quality Control Plans and Inspection Records.
\n
• Evaluate contractor performance and adherence to standards.
\n
• Contribute to health, safety, and environmental objectives across site operations.
\n
• Ensure documentation and reporting align with regulatory and quality requirements.
\n

Required Skills and Qualifications

\n
• Typically HNC qualified in mechanical/welding discipline or equivalent work history experience
\n
• Welding Inspector qualification (CSWIP 3.1 or equivalent as a minimum).
\n
• Experience in construction involving installation of plant (inc. pressure systems) and structural steel.
\n
• Conversant with British/European standards and design codes including RCC-M and BS EN.
\n
• Proven QA/QC experience and ability to document findings concisely and accurately.
\n
• Strong organisational, delegation, and communication skills.
\n
