Senior Interaction Designer

£420 per day | Inside IR35
Remote-first | London travel approximately 1-2 times per month

We are supporting a major public-sector digital transformation programme seeking an experienced Senior Interaction Designer. You will help modernise a complex Legacy service used to record judicial activity, supporting workforce planning, forecasting and payment processes. The role will focus on simplifying difficult workflows and establishing a scalable, accessible UX foundation for future development.

• Design clear, accessible end-to-end interactions for a complex digital service
\n
• Translate user research and service design insights into testable prototypes and screen designs
\n
• Create and iterate prototypes in Figma throughout discovery and delivery
\n
• Simplify workflows currently spread across multiple screens and unrelated actions
\n
• Apply established government design-system components and patterns
\n
• Collaborate closely with user researchers, content designers, service designers and technical colleagues
\n
• Test and refine designs based on user feedback and delivery constraints
\n
• Demonstrate and communicate how design decisions improve outcomes for users
\n

• Strong experience working as a Senior Interaction Designer on complex digital products or services
\n
• Advanced prototyping skills using Figma
\n
• Practical knowledge of the GOV.UK Design System and GOV.UK Prototype Kit
\n
• Previous experience delivering digital services within government or the wider public sector
\n
• Experience working effectively within agile, multidisciplinary teams
\n
• Proven ability to turn user research and service-design outputs into usable prototypes and interfaces
\n
• Strong understanding of accessibility, usability and user-centred design principles
\n
• Experience contributing to design communities of practice and sharing standards or best practice
