Structural Engineer Greater Manchester 2-3+ Years' Experience Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Emtech Recruitment is working with a well-established and award-winning Civil & Structural Engineering consultancy in Greater Manchester that is looking to appoint a Structural Engineer to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer with around 2-3 years' post-graduate experience who is keen to take ownership of projects, develop their technical expertise and progress towards Incorporated (IEng) or Chartered (CEng) status. Working on a diverse range of residential, commercial and industrial developments, you'll gain exposure to projects from initial concept through to construction while working alongside experienced Chartered Engineers. The Role As a Structural Engineer, you'll play an important role in delivering structural design projects and supporting clients throughout the design process. Your responsibilities will include: Taking responsibility for the structural design of projects under the guidance of a Senior Engineer or Director. Attending client and design team meetings to help develop project briefs and technical solutions. Organising and reviewing site investigations where required. Producing outline design schemes before progressing to detailed structural calculations. Designing structures in steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry. Preparing structural calculations using industry-standard software and hand calculations in accordance with UK Building Regulations and Eurocodes. Working closely with technicians to produce high-quality drawings using AutoCAD and Revit. Assisting with project management and the day-to-day delivery of multiple projects. About You We're looking for someone who has: A BEng or MEng (2:1 or above) in Civil or Structural Engineering. A minimum of 2-3 years' post-graduate experience within a UK engineering consultancy. Progress towards Incorporated (IEng) or Chartered (CEng) status with the IStructE or ICE. A good understanding of UK Building Regulations, British Standards and Eurocodes. Experience using structural design software such as Tekla Tedds and/or Tekla Structural Designer. Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients. A proactive attitude and enthusiasm to continue developing technically.A CSCS card and full UK driving licence would be beneficial but are not essential. Projects You'll have the opportunity to work on a varied portfolio of projects including: High-end residential developments and bespoke luxury homes. Domestic extensions, alterations and refurbishment schemes. Basement and subterranean structures. Bespoke swimming pool structures. Low- and medium-rise residential and commercial developments. Existing building conversions. Temporary works design. Retaining walls and external works. Private and adopted drainage design.
