Freelance Finishing Manager - Birmingham Major City Centre Development Contract Position | Immediate Start Available A leading Tier 1 main contractor is currently seeking an experienced Freelance Finishing Manager to join the site team on a major new-build development in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile project, managing the final stages of construction and ensuring the highest standards of quality, workmanship, and programme delivery through to completion. The Role: - Manage all finishing activities from first fix through to practical completion and handover - Coordinate subcontractors and specialist finishing trades on site - Drive progress against the completion programme and key milestones - Maintain excellent standards of quality, snagging, and defect resolution - Carry out inspections and ensure works are completed in line with drawings and specifications - Liaise with the Project Manager, Site Team, consultants, and client representatives - Manage snagging, close-out procedures, and handover requirements Requirements: - Proven experience as a Finishing Manager on large-scale residential, student accommodation, hotel, or mixed-use projects - Strong background managing internal finishes, quality control, and handover processes - Experience working with Tier 1 main contractors preferred - Ability to manage multiple subcontract packages and drive completion on site - Strong communication and organisational skills - Valid SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid qualifications Project Details: - Location: Birmingham - Sector: Major residential / accommodation development - Duration: Long-term freelance opportunity - Contractor: Confidential O’Neill and Brennan values diversity and promotes equality, All individuals will be treated in a fair and equal manner and in accordance with the law regardless of gender, marital status, race, religion, colour, age, disability or sexual orientation
