Risk Manager Sheffield £61,400 to £75,000 plus benefitsAre you an experienced Risk professional looking to take the next step in your career within a leading international law firm? We're looking for a confident and commercially minded Risk Team Leader to lead a high-performing team, manage complex regulatory matters, and play a key role in shaping the firm's risk and compliance strategy. This is an exciting opportunity to combine technical expertise with people leadership, working across the business to ensure the highest standards of regulatory compliance and risk management.
The Role\nAs Risk Team Leader, you'll be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the Risk Team while acting as a trusted adviser on complex compliance and regulatory matters. You'll support the wider business, develop your team, and drive continuous improvement across policies, processes and strategic projects. Key responsibilities include:

- Leading and managing the Risk Team inbox, ensuring work is allocated effectively and service levels are maintained. \n
- Acting as the escalation point for Risk Analysts and resolving complex compliance queries. \n
- Managing, coaching and developing Risk Analysts through regular one-to-ones and performance reviews. \n
- Delivering training across the firm on compliance, risk and regulatory matters. \n
- Supporting recruitment and helping build a high-performing Risk team. \n
- Advising on client terms and supporting complex conflicts and regulatory issues. \n
- Leading internal audits, investigations and risk assessments. \n
- Managing complex data protection matters, including data breaches and DSARs. \n
- Maintaining and enhancing policies, procedures and risk frameworks. \n
- Monitoring regulatory developments and implementing changes across the business. \n
- Leading strategic risk initiatives while building strong relationships with stakeholders across the firm. \n
You'll be a confident decision-maker with exceptional analytical skills and a collaborative leadership style. You'll ideally have:

- Qualified solicitor status or significant experience within legal risk and compliance. \n
- At least 5 years' experience within the Risk function of an international law firm. \n
- Previous people management or team leadership experience. \n
- Strong knowledge of SRA Codes of Conduct, legal regulatory requirements and compliance best practice. \n
- Experience handling data protection matters. \n
- Excellent communication, drafting and stakeholder management skills. \n
- Commercial awareness with the ability to balance business needs and regulatory risk. \n
- The confidence to influence, challenge and make sound decisions under pressure. \n
