Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a South London Local Authority for an experienced Civil Litigation Lawyer to join their in-house legal team. This is an excellent opportunity to manage a varied civil litigation caseload while benefiting from flexible hybrid working.

Civil Litigation Lawyer

LOCATION:\n

South London Local Authority

RATE:\n

£50-55ph umbrella / £48.91ph PAYE inc. holiday pay / £43.64ph PAYE exc. holiday pay

CONTRACT:\n

3 months with possibility of extension, 35 hours per week (1 day per week in office)

The Role:\n

You will manage a broad range of contentious matters, providing high-quality legal advice and representation across the Council's litigation portfolio.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct a varied caseload of general civil litigation , including residential and commercial landlord & tenant disputes.
\n
• Manage contractual, tortious and judicial review matters from pre-action through to enforcement.
\n
• Represent the Council in tribunals and courts, handling contested and technically complex cases.
\n
• Advise officers on legal risk, strategy and dispute resolution.
\n

About You\n

Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX Fellow) with practising rights.

\n

Significant experience handling a broad civil litigation caseload, ideally within local government.

\n

Confident managing contested matters and advising on complex legal issues.

\n
