KS2 Teaching Assistant - SEND Focus Nottingham, NG1 (commutable from West Bridgford, Sneinton, Mapperley, Carlton, Beeston) £110-£125 per day Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary Long Term Futures is recruiting an experienced and compassionate KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Nottingham from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) within Key Stage 2. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCo, you will provide tailored support to help pupils overcome barriers to learning, build confidence and make meaningful progress both academically and socially. The school is looking for someone who is patient, proactive and confident supporting children with a range of additional needs, while maintaining high expectations and creating a positive learning environment. About the Role As a KS2 SEND Teaching Assistant, you will: Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND across Key Stage 2 Support children with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH and Speech & Language needs Deliver targeted interventions to improve literacy, numeracy and emotional wellbeing Adapt learning activities to meet individual learning styles and support plans Promote positive behaviour and support pupils with emotional regulation Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement strategies outlined in EHCPs and individual support plans Monitor pupil progress and contribute to ongoing assessments and reviews Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, parents and the wider school teamThis is a rewarding role that requires resilience, flexibility and a genuine passion for inclusive education. Ideal Candidate Profile Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school Experience supporting pupils with SEND is essential Knowledge of ASD, ADHD, SEMH and Speech & Language needs Experience working with pupils who have EHCPs is desirable Strong behaviour management and communication skills Patient, nurturing and committed to helping pupils achieve their full potential Able to work collaboratively as part of a wider school team About the School Located in Nottingham Inclusive primary school with a strong SEND ethos Supportive leadership team and experienced SEN staff Well-resourced classrooms and intervention spaces Excellent opportunities for CPD and career progression Why Work with Long Term Futures?
