Junior / Intermediate Mechanical Estimator | Building Services | South London | £45,000£55,000 + Benefits Package An established Mechanical Building Services contractor operating across London is looking to appoint a Junior or Intermediate Mechanical Estimator to join its growing Pre-Construction team.The company delivers a varied portfolio of mechanical projects across the commercial fit-out and refurbishment sectors, working through both Design & Build and traditional tendering arrangements. Typical tender values range from approximately £500,000 to £10 million.This is an excellent opportunity for a developing Mechanical Estimator to work alongside an experienced Head of Estimating, gain exposure to increasingly substantial tenders and continue building a long-term career within mechanical building services.The business has longstanding client relationships, a strong pipeline of work and offers a supportive environment in which the successful candidate can further develop their technical, commercial and estimating capabilities.The Role The Junior / Intermediate Mechanical Estimator will assist with and manage mechanical tenders from initial enquiry through to final submission.You will review tender documentation, obtain quotations from subcontractors and suppliers, prepare accurate estimates and support the production of competitive tender submissions.Working closely with the Head of Estimating and wider Pre-Construction team, you will also contribute to Design & Build opportunities and assist with tender follow-up and project handover.Typical responsibilities will include:Reviewing tender enquiries, drawings and specificationsPreparing mechanical estimates and tender submissionsCompleting tender forms and pricing schedulesObtaining and assessing subcontractor and supplier quotationsProducing accurate and commercially competitive pricingAttending site surveys and pre-tender meetings when requiredAssisting with Design & Build tendersLiaising with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractorsManaging multiple tenders and submission deadlinesSupporting tender follow-up and project handoverContributing to the continued improvement of estimating systems and processesThe Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will have around two to six years Mechanical Estimating experience, ideally gained with a Mechanical, HVAC or M&E Building Services contractor.You should have:Previous experience within a Mechanical Estimating positionA good understanding of mechanical building servicesKnowledge of HVAC, air conditioning, heating, cooling, plumbing or public health systemsExperience reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentationThe ability to obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotationsStrong numerical and analytical skillsGood attention to detailStrong organisational and communication abilitiesThe ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlinesGood Microsoft Office skills, particularly ExcelExperience of commercial fit-out, refurbishment or Design & Build projects would be advantageous.This position would suit either a Junior Mechanical Estimator looking to take on greater responsibility or an Intermediate Mechanical Estimator seeking broader exposure and long-term career progression.Remuneration The successful Junior / Intermediate Mechanical Estimator will receive:£45,000£55,000 basic salaryCompany pensionBenefits packageThe final package will reflect the successful candidates experience and background.Next Steps If you are a Junior or Intermediate Mechanical Estimator with relevant Mechanical Building Services experience and would like to be considered for this exciting opportunity, please apply with an up-to-date CV or contact Rob Green at David Leslie Ltd for a confidential and informal discussion.This role would suit candidates currently working as a:Junior Mechanical EstimatorIntermediate Mechanical EstimatorMechanical EstimatorHVAC EstimatorAir Conditioning EstimatorM&E EstimatorTPBN1_UKTJ
