\n The opportunity\nYou'll be joining a growing multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with an excellent reputation for delivering complex infrastructure projects across the UK. Working within an expanding Rail team, you'll play a key role in delivering technically challenging schemes while collaborating with specialists across maritime, asset management and wider infrastructure disciplines.

You'll combine strong technical capability with project leadership, helping to deliver high-quality engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio of rail projects.
\nYour responsibilities will include:

Leading the delivery of rail infrastructure projects from design through to completion
\n - \n
Managing project programmes, budgets and technical deliverables
\n - \n
Supporting and mentoring graduate and junior engineers
\n - \n
Acting as a line manager and providing technical guidance
\n - \n
Preparing and reviewing engineering calculations, drawings, specifications and reports
\n - \n
Carrying out inspections, site visits and technical assessments
\n - \n
Coordinating multidisciplinary design teams
\n - \n
Preparing fee proposals and supporting tender submissions
\n - \n
Meeting with clients and developing long-term working relationships
\n - \n
Supporting project management and contract administration activities
\n - \n
Ensuring projects comply with Network Rail standards, industry regulations and engineering best practice

About you

You're an experienced rail engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges, working closely with clients and helping develop others. You're looking for a role that offers both technical variety and a clear path towards more senior leadership.
\nYou'll ideally have:

Around 6+ years' experience within Civil or Structural Engineering
\n - \n
Strong experience delivering rail infrastructure projects
\n - \n
Chartered, Incorporated or working towards Chartership (ICE or IStructE)
\n - \n
Strong structural and civil design experience
\n - \n
Experience preparing and reviewing engineering calculations
\n - \n
Knowledge of Network Rail standards, Railway Group Standards, Eurocodes and British Standards
\n - \n
Experience working within Network Rail engineering assurance processes
\n - \n
Experience delivering projects on time and within budget
\n - \n
Strong communication and client-facing skills
\n - \n
Good understanding of CDM Regulations
\n - \n
Proficiency using Microsoft Office
\n

CRE(D) experience
\n - \n
Previous mentoring or line management experience
\n - \n
Commercial awareness including project financial management
\n - \n
Experience preparing fee proposals and supporting tenders
\n - \n
Knowledge of structural analysis software such as Tekla Tedds, Tekla Structural Designer, MIDAS, Robot, LUSAS, SuperStress or similar
